Spring is here, and I’m spending a lot more time outdoors. One of my favorite pass times is finding 4-leaf and 5-leaf clovers. For more on this read [4 leaf clover]. Why so much chatter on finding clovers? Because a lot of the characteristics to find them are important in the world of storytelling. In March, our company mailed out dozens of postcards with an image of clover with a four-leaf clover highlighted. The postcard read, “We see what others don’t.”
My foundation in Film & Television and then Multimedia Journalism has trained my eye and ear to listen/see things that stick out. People want to be entertained with something they haven’t seen or heard before. To be able to bring people this level of content, one has to continually be consuming content to keep a pulse on what is being said, and trends. When I hear or see something unusual, it grabs my attention. I then think of ways to use that ‘unusual’ content.
